When we get it wrong

If we publish something wrong, we fix it and say so.

Last updated 4 November 2026

A correction

A correction fixes a fact that was wrong. We change the text and add a dated note to the story, for example:

Correction, 4 November 2026: an earlier version gave the last date as 10 November. The official notice says 12 November.

An update

An update adds new information, such as a revised schedule or a result. It gets its own dated note.

We do not quietly change facts

A small fix to spelling or wording gets no note. A change to a fact always gets one.
